Postdoctoral Fellow in Biology and Oxidative Protein Folding

Postdoctoral Fellow, Biology — Landeta Lab at Indiana University Bloomington is seeking a postdoctoral researcher in microbiology, biochemistry, biology , and related areas. The project focuses on oxidative protein folding in bacteria, especially the bacterial cell envelope, thiol-disulfide oxidoreductases, DsbA substrates, inhibitor discovery, and comparative studies in E. coli and Mycobacteria (including M. smegmatis ). The lab also mentions collaboration with Prof. Weikai Li on inhibitor-protein crystallography. Research activities include in vitro inhibitor assays, cysteine enrichment and proteomics, protein purification, microbial genetics, molecular biology, and general lab responsibilities such as supervising undergraduates, managing lab operations, writing reports/manuscripts, and presenting results. Eligibility: PhD required. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, organized, detail-oriented, and able to communicate effectively and work well in a team. Experience with microbial genetics, protein purification, in vitro assays, molecular biology, and proteomics is preferred. Funding: The position includes health insurance, full benefits, and a stipend/salary commensurate with experience.
