Xiaolei Huang

Xiaolei Huang is recruiting 2–3 PhD students for Spring 2027 and Fall 2027 to join the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Missouri (Mizzou) . The research group focuses on trustworthy NLP , multimodal large language models , edge computing , and quantum AI , with applications in health informatics , precision agriculture , and other science and engineering domains. The broader lab environment also includes work in AI systems, machine learning, computer vision, systems, networking, cybersecurity, high-performance computing, cyber-physical systems, biomedical computing, and scientific computing. Eligible applicants are encouraged from computer science , computer engineering , statistics , or related fields. For PhD applicants, prior research experience in NLP or a master’s degree is preferred.
