Postdoctoral Fellow opportunity in synthetic chemistry and medicinal chemistry at United Arab Emirates University . The project is centered on the design, synthesis, and optimization of small molecules for epigenetic drug targets , with applications in human cancers and neurological diseases . The role sits in a multidisciplinary drug discovery environment spanning organic synthesis, computer-aided drug design, biophysical assay development, and cellular studies. The successful candidate will work closely with Dr. Yasir Raouf (Assistant Professor of Chemistry) and contribute to a growing research program, including hit identification, lead optimization, and preclinical development. The post is especially suitable for a highly motivated synthetic chemist who wants to build expertise across the full small-molecule discovery pipeline. Requirements: Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Chemistry, or a related field; strong multi-step synthesis experience; route design and optimization skills; and proficiency in purification and characterization methods such as NMR, LC-MS, and HPLC. Strong communication and scientific writing skills are expected. Experience in medicinal chemistry, drug discovery, computer-aided drug design, biophysical assays, or cellular assays is a bonus. Funding: 24-month appointment with a competitive monthly salary and medical insurance according to institutional regulations.
