Ying Zhang

A fully funded PhD position is available in Ying Zhang's group at Colorado State University, focusing on research at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence and Power/Energy Systems. The group is seeking highly motivated students with backgrounds in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering. Research topics include large language models (LLMs) and AI for energy system modeling, operation, and control, as well as reliable power system operation and restoration under extreme weather conditions. Applicants should have strong math and programming skills (Python, Matlab/Simulink), research experience in power systems or AI/optimization applications, and excellent communication skills.
