PhD opportunity in quantum error correction for quantum networks at the University of Münster , within the Theoretical Quantum Communication Group led by Prof. Zahra Raissi . The position is part of the newly funded Quantum Futur project Q-SCALAR ( Quantum Secure Communication with Adaptive Layers and Ranks ), supported by the German Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR). The project focuses on next-generation quantum communication protocols by combining multipartite entanglement , graph states , quantum networks , quantum error correction , and quantum cryptography . The successful candidate will develop analytical and numerical methods for quantum information processing and investigate novel quantum error-correcting codes and communication protocols. The role is especially relevant for students interested in theoretical quantum information, coding theory, and quantum communication systems, with possible connections to photonic quantum technologies and experimental collaborations. This is a fully funded PhD position for three years , with remuneration at 67% of TV-L E13 . The expected start date is October 2026 or as soon as possible.
