Multiple funded openings are available in the Biron Lab at the
University of Florida
for
postdoctoral researchers
,
PhD students
, and NSF-supported
undergraduate students
/ research assistants. The lab is led by
Assistant Professor Zoleikha A. Biron
in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department.
The research focus is at the intersection of
machine learning
,
control theory
, and
cyber-physical systems
, with topics including
decentralized control design
,
optimization
,
fault detection and diagnostics
,
machine learning and AI for cybersecurity
,

, and
agentic AI / agentic systems
. The lab also highlights work in intelligent transportation systems, smart power systems, renewable energy integration, and cyber-resilient systems.
Preferred applicants should have a background in
Electrical Engineering
,
Computer Science
,
Mathematics
, optimization, control design, and/or machine learning. Strong programming skills in
MATLAB/SIMULINK
,
Python
, and deep learning frameworks such as
PyTorch
are desired. Experience with
LLMs
,
reinforcement learning
, or multimodal data is a plus. Prior publications in top venues or leading journals are highly valued, and the PI emphasizes strong self-motivation and interdisciplinary interest.
The post says the lab is recruiting for
Fall 2026 - Spring 2027
and mentions support from new
