Zuleima Karpyn

Penn State University is seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar to work on computational studies of flow in porous media , focusing on the question of whether pore-scale behavior can be predicted from laboratory observations. The project sits at the intersection of computational fluid dynamics , porous media , multiphase flow , and digital rock physics , with an emphasis on connecting numerical models to laboratory measurements and imaging. The post is associated with Zuleima Karpyn and Luis F. Ayala at Penn State University . The role involves working across computation and experimentation, so candidates should be comfortable bridging modeling with physical data. Strong experience with CFD software such as OpenFOAM or COMSOL Multiphysics is specifically highlighted, and background in reservoir engineering and phase-field modeling is desirable. This is a postdoctoral opening, not a PhD or master's call. The position is initially funded for one year with the possibility of renewal . No deadline is stated in the post excerpt provided, so applicants should check the linked Workday posting for current application status and instructions. Interested candidates should review the official Penn State job posting and submit materials through the university application portal. The post includes a direct Workday link for application.
