About this position

Fully funded Master’s scholarship in New Zealand on consumer response to dairy and plant-based products, offered through the Riddet Institute in collaboration with Bioeconomy Science Institute (BSI), Massey University, and Feast Lab.

The project is based at BSI, Mount Albert, Auckland, and runs for 1 year full-time. It focuses on sensory and consumer science questions around dairy yoghurt and plant-based yoghurt alternatives, including the effects of texture manipulation (thickness, mouthfeel) and flavour attributes such as sweetness, sourness, and aromatics on perception.

Funding: full tuition fees plus a $30,000 stipend, awarded by the Riddet Institute.

Eligibility highlights: New Zealand or Australian residents only; BFoodtech Honours degree minimum 2.1 or equivalent in Food Science or a related discipline; must meet Massey University Master of Food Technology entry requirements; IELTS 6.5 overall if English is not the first language. Experience in sensory science, human participants, or food choice behaviour is preferred.
