The research direction sits at the intersection of infrastructure performance forecasting, life cycle assessment (LCA), life cycle cost analysis (LCCA), digital twins for infrastructure monitoring and management, climate-resilient infrastructure design, physics-informed and machine-learning-based modeling, and sustainable/low-carbon construction materials.

This is a fully funded PhD with full tuition waiver, a monthly stipend, and additional benefits. The call indicates a start date of Fall 2026 or Spring 2027.

Eligibility highlights include a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; a strong academic record; genuine research motivation; and good English communication skills. Preferred experience includes Python, MATLAB, or R; PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Scikit-learn; road/structural/geotechnical engineering; ABAQUS or ANSYS; and academic writing/publication experience.
