Research Ireland Rinn Network PhD Studentships

University College Cork is advertising 19 fully funded PhD opportunities in Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics as part of the Rinn Artificial Intelligence cohort and Research Ireland’s Rinn Network.

The studentships begin on 1 October 2026 and are organised as a cohort-based PhD training programme across several research themes: foundational methods, translational methods, data & processing, people-centred AI, democratic governance, society & culture, and health.

The opportunity is open to graduates from a broad range of backgrounds, including arts and humanities, business, education, computer science, engineering, health sciences, life science & environment, mathematics & statistics, and social science & law. This makes it suitable for applicants interested in interdisciplinary AI, machine learning, deep learning, big data, data science, time series, climate modeling, and related data-driven research.

Funding is strong: each scholarship is worth €150,000 over four years, including a €100,000 tax-free stipend (living allowance). The post describes the overall initiative as a €2.85 million investment.
