Ulm University PhD Scholarship

Ulm University in Germany is advertising 3 fully funded PhD scholarships in the Egocentric Vision and Embodied AI Lab under Prof. Dr. Xi Wang. The positions focus on computer vision, embodied AI, deep learning, world models, dynamic 4D reconstruction, multi-agent collaboration, AI reasoning, dexterous manipulation, and robotics.

The scholarship is described as 100% fully funded with compensation according to the German TV-L E13 salary scale. The PhD duration is 3 to 5 years. Two positions are planned to start in September 2026, and one position starts in January 2027. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until the seats are filled.

Eligibility highlights include a master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline; strong programming skills; and fluency in English. A background in computer vision, machine learning, or robotics is preferred. Research experience and publications at venues such as CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, SIGGRAPH, NeurIPS, ICML, or ICLR are considered a plus. German is an added bonus but not required.
