University of the Sunshine Coast HDR Scholarship

Funded PhD opportunity at the University of the Sunshine Coast through the Centre for Human Factors and Systems Science.

This project focuses on systems thinking, human factors, safety science, and risk assessment. The successful candidate will contribute to an Australian Research Council-supported program of research examining how organisations identify, manage, and learn from risks, and will help test and extend the novel digital Net-HARMS platform.

The research will apply the platform in a new safety-critical domain such as transport safety, outdoor recreation and leisure, child safeguarding in the outdoor sector, or another suitable domain.

Funding includes a tax-free stipend of AUD 38,000 per year, full tuition coverage, and relocation support where applicable. The scholarship also offers opportunities to publish and present at academic and industry conferences, plus flexible study arrangements with on-campus or remote options.

Eligible applicants should have a background in human factors, safety science, psychology, education, health sciences, or a related discipline, and must be domestic candidates only.
