The University of Manchester is offering the Global Futures Scholarships 2026, a prestigious opportunity for international students from select African countries to pursue undergraduate and master's degrees in the United Kingdom. With over 300 awards totaling more than £6 million, this scholarship program aims to support academically excellent students and strengthen their global career prospects.

Eligibility: The scholarships are open to students domiciled in Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Mauritius, Nigeria, South Africa, and Zimbabwe, who have resided in these countries for at least the last three years. Undergraduate applicants must be applying for direct first-year entry in 2026 and possess or be working towards qualifications such as A-levels, IB Diploma, South African NSC or IEB, NCUK International Foundation Year, or Bridge House College Foundation. Master's applicants must hold an unconditional offer for a full-time, on-campus master's course at the University of Manchester starting in September 2026. Applicants must be self-funded and not previously studied in the UK. Excluded courses include Medicine, Dentistry, Architecture, and blended or distance learning programs.

Funding: Undergraduate awards provide up to £30,000 (£10,000 per year for three years) as a tuition fee discount, conditional on maintaining a 60% average in final exams each year. Master's awards offer £18,000 as a tuition fee discount. The scholarships are merit-based, with selection based on academic excellence, grades, and the strength of the personal statement or scholarship application. Living expenses are not covered.

Application Process: Interested students must first apply for an eligible course at the University of Manchester. Once an offer is received, eligible applicants will be emailed a scholarship application form. The deadline for submission is 23 April 2026. Selection aims to achieve a balance by gender, domicile, qualification type, and course of study.
