Graduate Research Excellence Scholarship (GRES)

This PhD project at Monash University Malaysia focuses on high dimensional panel data analysis, a statistical approach crucial for understanding complex systems such as pollution monitoring and meteorological indicators. The research aims to explore the implications of high dimensional panel data for statistical inference, with applications in climate change and structural transformation—areas suspected to influence the middle income trap problem. The project is supervised by Professor Erniel Barrios, with Dr. Lee How Chinh and Dr. Shin Zhu Sim as associate supervisors, offering a multidisciplinary environment within the Arts, Social Sciences and Business department.

Successful applicants will be awarded the Graduate Research Excellence Scholarship (GRES), which provides a full tuition fee waiver and a monthly stipend for up to 3 years 6 months. To be eligible, candidates must have a First Class Honours (H1) or its equivalence (H1E) recognised by Monash University Malaysia and meet the English language requirements.
