About this position
JYU Visiting Fellow Programme 2027 at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland, invites applications from researchers with a doctoral degree for a one- or two-month research visit in 2027.
The programme is designed to support research collaboration, strengthen international engagement, and increase the impact of research conducted at JYU. Visiting Fellows may work with hosts in JYU faculties, departments, or independent institutes and may also take part in some educational activities.
Research areas are broad and depend on the host unit, with possible themes across biology, physics, chemistry, mathematics, statistics, psychology, education, linguistics, business, sociology, and related interdisciplinary fields.
Funding: a grant of 4,000 euros per month, paid directly to the fellow’s bank account. This is not a salary and does not create employment with the university. The grant is intended to cover travel and accommodation costs; these are not reimbursed separately.
Eligibility highlights: doctoral degree completed before the visit starts; residence and affiliation outside Finland; excellent research track record; excellent English; and a confirmed JYU host with an invitation letter. Applicants already conducting research at JYU are not eligible.
Application package: CV with ORCID and affiliation details, invitation letter from the JYU host, 2–3 page research plan, and complete publication list. The application must be submitted online by 14 August 2026 at 23:59 Finnish time.
Visit timing: earliest start in January 2027 and latest end on 31 December 2027. The visit may last 30 days or two months, and a two-month visit may be split into two periods.
How to apply: first contact a researcher at JYU to secure a host and agree on the research plan. Then complete the online form and upload all required attachments before the deadline.
