Opportunities are available at the Ribeirão Preto School of Medicine, University of São Paulo (FMRP-USP), in Brazil, across bioinformatics, neuroscience, and molecular genetics. The post highlights FAPESP-funded openings for a technical training fellowship (TT-V), a master’s fellowship, and PhD fellowships.

TT-V in Molecular Genetics of Leishmania / Bioinformatics: the project focuses on deciphering the function of non-coding RNAs in Leishmania at the host-parasite interface. The fellow will work on high-throughput parasite datasets, pipeline development, differential expression analysis, network analysis, interaction prediction, sequence/structure conservation, and annotation transfer across species. Required background includes at least five years of experience or a PhD in bioinformatics, Unix/Linux proficiency, R and/or Python, NGS analysis, pipeline development, and English fluency. The fellowship value is R$ 9,760.00/month.

Master’s openings in Neurosciences: these positions are linked to a project on the neurobiological mechanisms of adaptive versus maladaptive memory generalization. The work includes behavioral experiments in mice, stereotaxic surgery, transcardiac perfusion, histology, microscopy, and image analysis. Applicants should have prior scientific initiation/research experience in Biological or Biomedical Sciences; experience with mouse handling, stereotaxic surgery, perfusion, histology, or electrophysiology is a plus. The fellowship value is R$ 3,270.00/month.

PhD openings in Neurosciences: these positions are also within the memory generalization project and include work on memory overlap, neuronal excitability, optogenetics, engram labeling, calcium imaging, electrophysiology, and confocal/fluorescence microscopy. Applicants should hold a master’s degree in Neuroscience or related biological/biomedical fields, and prior publication plus hands-on experience with animal behavior, stereotaxic surgery, electrophysiology, and imaging are desirable. The fellowship value is R$ 5,790.00/month.
