About this position

PhD Fellowship in Gender and Migration Economics at the Universitat de Barcelona School of Economics, within the Facultat d'Economia i Empresa - Universitat de Barcelona and the IEB (Institut d'Economia de Barcelona).

The project, Social Spillovers from the Perspectives of Gender and Migration, studies how gender dynamics and migration shape labour markets, education, inequalities, beliefs, and political attitudes. The successful candidate will join a vibrant research environment and the Public Policies research program at IEB, with regular seminars and collaboration with leading researchers.

This is a 4-year full-time PhD fellowship starting tentatively in April/May 2027. The role is research-focused and especially relevant for candidates interested in economics, labour economics, gender economics, migration economics, health economics, applied microeconometrics, and causal inference. The selected candidate will conduct empirical research and work with Stata or similar software; R and Python are an asset.

Funding includes an annual gross salary of about €25,500 plus up to €5,500 for research stays, along with social security benefits and public healthcare coverage.
