About this position

📢 A fully funded 36-month PhD scholarship is open in France in polymer chemistry, polymer physics, and 3D printing at the Université de Pau et des Pays de l’Adour (UPPA), in collaboration with CNRS and IMT Mines Alès through the IPREM Institute.

The doctoral project focuses on the development of advanced polymeric materials, including reactive polymers, resin development for 3D printing, self-assembly polymer blocks, photopolymerase induced microscopy (PIMS), and the fabrication of multi-level pyramidal materials with advanced properties. The work also includes microstructure and nanostructure analysis using techniques such as SEM, AFM, and SAXS.

Eligible applicants should have a Master’s degree or equivalent in polymer chemistry, chemistry, physics, or a related field. Experience in polymer characterization, polymerization and self-assembly, microscopy, and structural analysis is preferred. 3D printing experience is an advantage but not required. Strong English skills, independent working ability, data analysis skills, and teamwork in a multidisciplinary environment are expected.

Application materials include a CV, Master’s degree and transcript, a one-page motivation letter, and two academic recommendation letters. Applications must be submitted via the official CNRS platform; the post explicitly says not to apply by email. Start date is October 2026 or as agreed.

Funding details

Full funding including tuition fees and living expenses is available for this position. The scholarship covers all educational costs and provides a monthly stipend.
