About this position

PhD scholarship at the Department of Psychology, University of Copenhagen in the project “A Danish model for individual Cognitive Stimulation Therapy for people with dementia” (DiCST / Project Brain Well-being).

The project develops and evaluates an individual psychosocial intervention based on Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST) for people with mild to moderate dementia, designed for home use with a family caregiver. The research will focus on improving cognitive function and quality of life for the person with dementia, while also supporting caregiver quality of life and caregiving aspects.

The PhD student will contribute to manual development, intervention methods and tools, recruitment, data collection, data analysis, and dissemination. The work is embedded in the Copenhagen Neuropsychology Lab and involves collaboration with dementia professionals, municipalities, people with dementia, family caregivers, and international researchers.

This is a fully funded 3-year PhD scholarship within the 5+3 programme. The project is funded by TrygFonden and Alzheimer-forskningsfonden. An international stay is planned as part of the PhD.

Eligibility highlights: master’s-level qualifications in neuropsychology and/or clinical psychology (or equivalent), strong interest in psychosocial interventions for dementia, experience with qualitative data and/or cognitive assessment as an advantage, and fluency in Danish (C1) plus excellent academic English.
