About this position

Karolinska Institutet is advertising a postdoctoral scholarship in thymic regeneration and anti-cancer immunity in the Lemarquis group. The project sits at the interface of immunology, translational immunology, bioinformatics, single-cell methods, high-parameter flow cytometry, and multi-omics, with a strong focus on restoring T cell immunity after cancer therapy, hematopoietic cell transplantation, chemotherapy, and aging.

The research environment emphasizes human and preclinical immunology, spatial biology, single-cell transcriptomics/epigenetics, murine models, and functional assays. The successful candidate may work on thymic injury and regeneration, immune monitoring, organoid/ATO-type systems, and integration of bulk and single-cell datasets to identify regenerative circuits and therapeutic targets.

This opportunity is aimed at an ambitious postdoctoral researcher with a PhD or equivalent competence in immunology, molecular/cellular biology, bioinformatics, or a closely related field. Particularly relevant experience includes high-parameter flow cytometry, single-cell analysis, murine models, translational immunology, and cancer immunotherapy. The call is specifically for a foreign researcher coming to Sweden; applicants resident in Sweden or who have completed part of their academic education in Sweden are not eligible.

Funding is provided as a tax-free scholarship, normally awarded for 12 months at a time and paid every six months, with a possible maximum duration of two years within a four-year period after the doctorate. The application deadline is 19 June 2026.

To apply, prepare a CV, publication list, one-page summary of current work, and a motivation letter in English or Swedish, then submit via the Varbi recruitment system.
