University of Melbourne Graduate Research Scholarships

University of Melbourne Graduate Research Scholarships 2027 are open for Masters by Research/MPhil and PhD study in Australia. This is a highly competitive, fully funded scholarship programme with more than 600 awards available across a wide range of disciplines.

The scholarship supports research study in areas including architecture, arts and humanities, business and economics, education, engineering, environment, health, information technology and computer science, law, music and performing arts, science, and veterinary, agricultural and food sciences.

Funding includes a full tuition fee offset, a living allowance of $39,500 per year (pro-rata), a relocation grant, research allowances, and overseas student health cover for eligible international students. The scholarship also includes limited paid leave provisions.

Eligibility is open to domestic and international students of any nationality who have applied for, or are currently enrolled in, an eligible graduate research degree at the University of Melbourne and meet the course entry requirements.

Application deadline: 31 October 2026. New applicants are automatically considered when they submit a graduate research course application by the course deadline. Current students and deferred offer holders must submit the online scholarship application form by the deadline.
