About this position
University of Inland Norway (INN), Faculty of Applied Ecology, Agricultural Sciences and Biotechnology, Department of Biotechnology, is offering a 3-year postdoc in embryology with emphasis on molecular biology, bioinformatics, and microscopy.
The position is part of the Centre for Embryology and Healthy Development (CRESCO), a Norwegian Centre of Excellence linked with the University of Oslo and Oslo University Hospital, and focused on epigenetic and epitranscriptomic information, DNA repair, genome stability, single-cell/single-nucleotide analysis, and healthy development in a One Health perspective.
Research may involve livestock and aquatic species such as cattle, swine, and fish, with techniques including in vitro fertilization, ICSI, ChIP-seq, microscopy, molecular and genomic methods, and bioinformatics/data analysis.
The postdoc will work in Professor Elisabeth Kommisrud’s research group and is expected to develop an independent research profile, contribute to project applications, work in multi-partner projects, engage with industry partners, and supervise M.Sc. and Ph.D. students.
Applicants must hold a PhD and have strong experimental experience in embryology or related biology, a strong publication record, and excellent English communication skills. Experience with molecular techniques, (epi)genomic experiments, gene expression analysis, bioinformatics, and data analysis is an advantage.

What's required
Applicants must have a PhD and a strong experimental background in embryology and/or relevant topics, with a thorough understanding of the relevant biology. A strong publication record in internationally recognised, highly ranked peer-reviewed journals is required. Experience with student supervision is an advantage. Experience with molecular techniques, (epi)genomic experiments, gene expression analysis, bioinformatics, and/or data analysis is considered an advantage. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are required. Interest in fertility biology, embryology, epigenetics, preservation technologies, and animal or aquatic breeding is an advantage.
