Tu/e is advertising an Assistant Professor in Artificial Intelligence for Software Engineering in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science. This is a research-and-teaching academic position focused on the intersection of AI and software engineering, with topics such as LLMs for code, testing, program analysis, and human–AI development tools.

The successful candidate will join the Software Engineering and Technology (SET) cluster and is expected to collaborate with researchers working on software evolution, software architecture, software verification, human aspects of software engineering, and secure software engineering. The role emphasizes cutting-edge research with scientific rigor and real-world relevance, plus collaboration with academia and industry.

Eligibility highlights include a PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a comparable domain, a strong publication record in leading software engineering venues, strong AI expertise, demonstrable research outputs, and excellent English communication. The position also requires teaching at bachelor and master levels, supervising student projects, and obtaining the University Teaching Qualification within the first three years.

Employment conditions include a gross monthly salary of €4,728–€6,433 (full-time), an 8.3% year-end bonus, 8% vacation pay, mentoring and leadership training, a development track toward Associate Professor, and support for international staff.
