About this position
University of Copenhagen’s Biotech Research and Innovation Centre (BRIC) is advertising a 3-year computational postdoc in the Lund Group, Denmark. The project sits at the intersection of biology, computer science, bioinformatics, machine learning, deep learning, and medical science, with a focus on ribosome specialization, specialized translation, RNA modifications, and analysis of single-molecule nanopore sequencing data.
The successful candidate will develop computational tools to analyse nanopore sequencing data and help study how ribosome heterogeneity shapes translational programs and disease processes. The work is carried out in collaboration with Thomas Hamelryck’s deep probabilistic programming group, and the postdoc will have room to co-develop the project with the team.
Eligibility highlights: a PhD in biomedical or natural sciences; strong bioinformatics and machine learning background; experience with deep learning; experience running models on shared HPC clusters and remote GPU servers; familiarity with large-scale experimentation, debugging, and resource management in clustered computing environments; excellent English; and strong communication/teamwork skills. Experience in computational biology, RNA modification prediction, translation/protein synthesis, or molecular/cellular biology is desirable.
Funding and terms: fixed-term postdoctoral employment for 3 years, full-time (37 hours/week). Salary starts at 40,000 DKK/month plus pension contributions, with possible supplement depending on qualifications.
Application window: deadline is 13 September 2026 at 23:59 CET. Apply online in English and upload a motivation letter, CV, certified/signed PhD and MSc certificates (or supervisor statement if the PhD is not yet completed), and a publication list.
