Research tasks include regular sampling of compound-specific root exudates, minirhizotron-based root observations, upscaling of root exudation fluxes, drought experiments on European beech using rain-out shelters, sap flow and dendrometer measurements, and stable isotope work with 15N to study litter-derived nitrogen dispersal.

Applicants should hold a Master’s degree in Environmental Sciences, Geoecology, Biology, or a related field. A strong background in plant physiology, root ecology, nutrient cycling, and stable isotopes is expected. Experience with GC-MS, minirhizotrons, sap flow, and dendrometry is advantageous. The post also asks for excellent English, strong organizational skills, autonomy, flexibility, teamwork, and enthusiasm for field and lab work. A class B driver’s license is required.
