About this position
The University of Luxembourg is recruiting a Doctoral Researcher in Services and Data Management within the Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT). The position is based in the Services and Data Management (SEDAN) research group, which works at the intersection of data analytics, machine learning, AI, cybersecurity, reliability, and secure ICT services.
SEDAN’s research strengths include FinTech analytics, the security of blockchain and decentralized finance, networking and cloud security, vehicular networks, the mathematical foundations of AI, AI cybersecurity, cybersecurity for AI, and agentic reliability engineering. The role is research-intensive and includes developing new research directions, designing and implementing solutions, supporting experiments and benchmarks, contributing to scientific publications, patents, or open-source software, and participating in proposal writing, reporting, workshops, demonstrations, and outreach.
The university describes itself as a multilingual and international research environment with strong links to industry, European institutions, and the Luxembourg labour market. The post is a full-time fixed-term doctoral contract for 36 months at the Kirchberg Campus. The annual gross salary is EUR 43,445 for a doctoral researcher.
Eligibility: candidates should hold a master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a closely related discipline. Applicants should have a strong interest in ML/AI, security, and reliability, good programming skills, and familiarity with good software engineering practices such as version control, testing, and reproducible experiments. A minimum B2-level proficiency in the language of the thesis is required.
