About this position

This is a contract employee position with an annual salary of roughly 4.0–9.0 million yen (company-regulated, experience-dependent), plus bonus, salary increase, and commuting allowance. The contract is renewable annually, with a maximum of 5 years for postdoc-equivalent roles. Interviews may be conducted online for applicants living overseas or far away in Japan.

What's required

A PhD or Master's degree in a science or engineering field and several years of research and development experience are required. Applicants should have R&D experience in wireless communication, communication networks, communication protocols, signal processing, or related areas, and be interested in learning about physical AI communication infrastructure, 5G/6G wireless communication, and cloud-native mobile core networks. Fluent Japanese speaking, reading, and writing skills are required. Preferred qualifications include the ability to read and write technical documents in English, experience with standardization, simulation, and equipment evaluation, familiarity with 3GPP and IETF specifications, technical communication skills in English (TOEIC around 800 as a guideline), experience in open innovation and agile development, AI/LLM-based R&D, mathematical optimization and machine learning, reinforcement learning, and public cloud infrastructure such as AWS.
