Fully Funded MSc/PhD Graduate Research Assistantships in Insect Ecology, Pollinator Research, and Agroecology at Kansas State University Kansas State University in United States

Applications are open for two fully funded Graduate Research Assistantships at Kansas State University in the Department of Entomology, within the Kim Eco Lab. These opportunities are available at the MSc or PhD level and are designed for students interested in insect ecology, pollinator research, conservation biology, agroecology, regenerative agriculture, GIS, and species distribution modeling.

Project 1 focuses on land management and climate effects on insect pollinators in grasslands. The work includes field research in tallgrass prairie ecosystems, with opportunities to study pollinator populations, biodiversity, and taxonomy.

Project 2 examines regenerative agricultural management effects on insect pests and beneficial insects in soybean. This project involves field surveys in soybean agroecosystems across Kansas and the use of species occurrence modeling and GIS tools.

Ideal applicants should have a background in Biology, Ecology, Entomology, Conservation Biology, or a related field. Experience in field research is desirable. Skills in GIS, coding, or quantitative analysis are especially helpful for the second project. Strong communication and teamwork skills are also valued.

The assistantships are fully funded and cover tuition and stipend. The preferred start date is Spring 2027 (January 2027). The application deadline is July 31, 2027.
