I'm advising of the following PhD studentship in adsorbent characterisation for CO2 capture. This is an industrial studentship as part of the CDT in Green Industrial Futures , collaborating with Surface Measurement Systems (SMS), a leading adsorption science company based in London. The studentship is 4 years, fully paid for UK/Home students only (UK or Irish nationals, or EU nationals with UK settled status). The first year is spent at the SMS laboratories in London (London top up of the stipend included), the three years after at Heriot Watt University. The CDT is really the coolest way to do your PhD. Besides undertaking your research, you’ll benefit from four 2-week residential courses at Heriot Watt, the universities of Bath and Sheffield and Imperial; heaps of personal development opportunities; cohort-based research and learning, you’ll really be part of a group; much interaction with leading industries in the UK and beyond; and an international placement in year 3 if desired. You’ll be part of the Research Centre for Carbon Solutions (RCCS) , working alongside 50 odd colleagues developing world-leading technology and solutions to fight climate change.
