About this position

Job vacancy: Hydraulic Modelling Engineer at Shanghai Municipal Engineering Design Institute (Group) Co., Ltd. (SMEDI), working in Gulshan-2, Dhaka, Bangladesh.

The role focuses on hydraulic modelling for water supply, wastewater, and stormwater systems, with hands-on use of SewerGEMS, WaterGEMS, HAMMER (WaterHammer), ArcGIS, and AutoCAD. Responsibilities include developing, calibrating, and validating models; analyzing field survey, GIS, sensor, and infrastructure data; preparing technical reports; documenting assumptions and design criteria; supporting feasibility studies and design reports; and coordinating with survey, GIS, CAD, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Eligibility: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering, Hydrology, Water Supply and Sanitation Engineering, or a related field. Fresh graduates are welcome. Preference is given to BUET and other reputed engineering university graduates. Strong English communication, teamwork, professionalism, and willingness to learn are emphasized.

Work details: 8 hours per day, 5 days per week (Sunday to Thursday). Applicants should be willing to stay in the role for at least one year.
