About this position
Radboud University is advertising a Junior Postdoc Position in Sensorimotor Neuroscience within the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour in Nijmegen, the Netherlands.
The project sits at the intersection of neuroscience, psychological sciences, artificial intelligence, and clinical research. The successful candidate will study how people perceive, move, and make decisions in complex and uncertain environments, with a focus on the computational principles underlying perception and action. Research tasks include designing and running behavioural experiments, developing computational models of multisensory integration and sensorimotor control, and applying methods such as Bayesian modelling and optimal control theory. The work uses advanced tools including virtual reality, wearable sensing, motion platforms, and data analytics, with emphasis on natural behaviours such as navigation, orienting, and reaching.
The position is embedded in the sensorimotor research group of Prof. Pieter Medendorp, whose group studies neural mechanisms of perceptual processing, motor control, and sensorimotor integration. The postdoc will work in a highly collaborative environment with researchers at the Donders Institute and partners across the Netherlands and Europe.
Eligibility highlights: a PhD in a relevant field is required, along with strong empirical and computational modelling experience in sensorimotor control. Experience with behavioural or patient studies is required. Supervising students is an advantage, as are strong communication, organisational, and teamwork skills.
