About this position
University of Copenhagen is advertising a Postdoc in Neural Circuits of Sensorimotor Control at the Department of Neuroscience in Copenhagen, Denmark. The position is based in the Bellardita Laboratory and is part of a research program supported by a Lundbeck Foundation Ascending Investigator Grant.
The project focuses on systems neuroscience, neural circuits, sensorimotor control, motor control, adaptive behavior, and computational analysis. The successful candidate will work with behaving mice and contribute to experiments involving in vivo neural recording and imaging, optogenetic/chemogenetic manipulation, quantitative behavioral paradigms, and analysis of neural and behavioral datasets.
Applicants should hold a PhD in Neuroscience, Neurobiology, Physiology, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field. Required experience includes experimental neuroscience with rodents, at least one in vivo neural recording/manipulation method, quantitative analysis using Python or MATLAB, and the ability to work independently. Strong English communication skills are required. Helpful additional experience includes motor or sensorimotor neuroscience, machine learning, and behavioral task development.
The appointment is full time, fixed term for 2 years, with a planned start date of 1 January 2027 or by agreement. Salary starts at 42,000 DKK per month plus pension contributions, with possible supplement depending on qualifications.
