M.Sc. and Ph.D. positions are available in Grain Storage and Post-Harvest Technology at the University of Manitoba, Department of Biosystems Engineering, under the supervision of Prof. Fuji Jian.
The research group is looking for graduate students beginning in Fall 2026 / Winter 2027. The lab focuses on CFD-based heat and mass transfer modeling, DEM simulation for grain separation and airflow resistance, pest population modeling, grain ecosystem simulation, insect sensor development, and quality monitoring of stored products such as grain and potato.
Funding is available through graduate assistantships and research stipends.
Eligibility: M.Sc. applicants should hold a B.Sc. degree in Engineering or a related discipline. Ph.D. applicants should hold an M.Sc. degree in an engineering discipline and have a strong research/publication record. Preferred background includes fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat and mass transfer, programming, and numerical modeling. Strong English communication skills are also preferred.
