M.Sc. and Ph.D. Positions in Grain Storage and Post-Harvest Technology are available in the Grain Storage and Post-Harvest Technology Lab, Department of Biosystems Engineering, University of Manitoba.
The lab is seeking graduate students for Fall 2026 / Winter 2027 entry under the supervision of Prof. Fuji Jian. The research program focuses on CFD-based heat and mass transfer modeling, DEM simulation for grain separation and airflow resistance, pest population modeling, grain ecosystem simulation, insect sensor development, and quality monitoring of stored products such as grain and potato.
Funding: Graduate assistantships and research stipends are available.
Eligibility: M.Sc. applicants should hold a B.Sc. degree in Engineering or a related discipline. Ph.D. applicants should hold an M.Sc. degree in an engineering discipline and have a strong research/publication record. Preferred preparation includes fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat and mass transfer, programming, numerical modeling, and strong English communication skills.
