University College Dublin is inviting expressions of interest for internally funded PhD and Postdoc opportunities starting in 2027 in computational psychiatry and cognitive neuroscience.

The lab is led by Dr. Ondrej Zika, Assistant Professor in Psychology at University College Dublin. The research focus is on understanding the computational and neural mechanisms of uncertainty, how these mechanisms interact with mental health, and how the findings can be translated into clinical contexts.

The post highlights access to state-of-the-art facilities, including OPM-MEG, MRI, and TMS, along with computational resources and a strong collaborator network in Ireland, Europe, and beyond.

Applicants should have a strong background in psychology, mental health, or neuroscience research. Experience with cognitive computational modelling is specifically requested, and this does not refer to general AI/ML experience. Python or R programming skills are expected, together with strong management, communication, and organisation skills.
