University College Dublin is inviting expressions of interest for internally funded PhD and Postdoc opportunities starting in 2027 in computational psychiatry and cognitive neuroscience . The lab is led by Dr. Ondrej Zika , Assistant Professor in Psychology at University College Dublin. The research focus is on understanding the computational and neural mechanisms of uncertainty , how these mechanisms interact with mental health , and how the findings can be translated into clinical contexts . The post highlights access to state-of-the-art facilities, including OPM-MEG , MRI , and TMS , along with computational resources and a strong collaborator network in Ireland, Europe, and beyond. Applicants should have a strong background in psychology , mental health , or neuroscience research. Experience with cognitive computational modelling is specifically requested, and this does not refer to general AI/ML experience. Python or R programming skills are expected, together with strong management, communication, and organisation skills.
