PhD and postdoctoral positions are open in the Gulder Group at Saarland University and the Helmholtz Institute for Pharmaceutical Research (HIPS) in Germany.

The group works at the interface of organic chemistry, catalysis, photocatalysis, biocatalysis, synthetic methodology, bioorganic chemistry, and data-driven chemistry. Current research directions include assembly-controlled photocatalysis (CRC 325), microflow and lab-on-a-chip biocatalysis, and hypervalent iodane fluorinations.

These positions are suited to highly motivated researchers with an excellent Master’s degree for PhD applicants or an excellent PhD degree for postdoctoral applicants in Chemistry. A strong background in organic synthesis is required, and experience with analytical methods such as NMR and MS is expected. Interest in enzymology, microflow, or DoE/ML is a plus.
