PhD and Postdoc Positions in Organic Chemistry, Catalysis, and Biocatalysis at Saarland University
PhD and Postdoc Positions in Organic Chemistry, Catalysis, and Biocatalysis
are available in the Gulder Group at
Saarland University
and the
Helmholtz Institute for Pharmaceutical Research (HIPS)
in Germany.
The group works at the interface of
bioorganic chemistry
,
synthetic methodology
,
catalysis
, and
data-driven chemistry
, with projects spanning
assembly-controlled photocatalysis
(CRC 325, Project C03),
microflow and lab-on-a-chip biocatalysis
, and
hypervalent iodane fluorinations
.
Research topics include supramolecular photocatalyst assemblies, oxidation and selectivity control in photocatalysis, biocatalytic halogenation reactions in batch and continuous microflow, downstream C–C coupling in microfluidic environments, and the design/synthesis of novel hypervalent iodanes for selective fluorination.
Applicants should have an excellent
Master’s degree for PhD
or
PhD degree for postdoc
in Chemistry, with a strong background in organic synthesis. Experience with analytical techniques such as
NMR
and
MS
is expected; interest in photocatalysis, biocatalysis, enzymology, microflow, or DoE/ML is a plus.
The post highlights an excellent research infrastructure, strong interdisciplinary collaborations, international networking, conference travel, and career development opportunities. No deadline is stated in the post.
