About this position
PhD candidate opportunity in Biofluorescence at the Leibniz Institute for Analytical Sciences (ISAS) in Dortmund, Germany. The project is part of the DFG-funded CRC 1752 DYNAMO: Immediate Tumor Dynamics in Melanoma Therapy and focuses on understanding the role of neutrophils in the early development of therapy resistance in human melanoma.
The research combines tumor immunology, melanoma biology, immune checkpoint inhibitor response, few-cell proteomics, multicolor flow cytometry, live-cell imaging, advanced microscopy, and data analysis in collaboration with computational partners. The project is carried out with the University Hospital Essen and the University of Duisburg-Essen.
Applicants should have a completed diploma or master’s degree in molecular biology, cancer biology, immunology, cell biology, bioinformatics, translational medicine, or a related field. Experience with molecular/cellular biology and functional immune cell assays is preferred; experience with neutrophils or myeloid cells is an advantage. Strong interest in translational cancer research, tumor–immune interactions, and melanoma is important. English fluency is required.
The position is part-time (65%), starts on 2026-10-01, and is funded according to the German TV-L EG 13 scale. The contract runs until 2030-06-30.
