About this position

The Department of Physics at the University of Marburg is inviting applications for a Doctoral Researcher / PhD candidate in the research group “Sustainably Scalable Perovskite Photovoltaics” led by Dr. Lukas Wagner.

This is a 3-year, part-time (75%) doctoral position funded at E 13 TV-H. The project focuses on the long-term stability of next-generation perovskite solar cells, with an emphasis on developing novel high-throughput measurement methods to study loss and degradation processes in operando during ageing. The role includes building and automating time-resolved measurement systems, parallel characterisation and ageing stations, accelerated ageing experiments, quantitative loss analysis, and fabrication of perovskite solar cells, especially with long-term-stable carbon electrodes.

Applicants should hold an MSc or equivalent in physics, electrical engineering, materials science, chemistry, engineering, or a related field. Strong knowledge of solid-state physics, semiconductor physics, or photovoltaics research is expected. Experience with perovskite or thin-film photovoltaics, optoelectronics, measurement technology, electronics/optics, or programming such as Python is an advantage. The group values high motivation, independence, teamwork, and very good English.

The position is based at the University of Marburg, Germany, and offers close supervision, excellent laboratory infrastructure, collaboration with international research groups and industry partners, and opportunities for doctoral training through MARA, the International Office, and the Higher Education Didactics Office.
