Participants will work on framing decision problems, defining objectives, selecting appropriate tools, handling uncertainty and trade-offs, and designing evidence-based strategies. The course includes lectures, group work, discussions, and hands-on team projects. Topics include ecological modeling, ecological monitoring, multi-objective decisions, value of information, sequential decisions, and adaptive management.
Eligibility highlights: PhD students only. No advanced mathematical skills are required. No programming expertise is required, although basic familiarity with R would be helpful. Active participation and a project report are required for assessment.
Funding/fees: No fee for PhD students enrolled at a Danish university (excluding materials, travel, accommodation, and meals). For PhD students enrolled at a non-Danish university, the fee is 565 EUR (excluding materials, travel, accommodation, and meals).
