About this position
Karolinska Institutet is advertising a PhD/doctoral student position in the selection of DNA/RNA nanostructures as novel therapies at the Department of Microbiology, Tumor and Cell Biology in the Benson research group. The project is based at Scilifelab Campus Solna and focuses on developing targeted nucleic acid therapeutics for cancer using high-throughput screening of millions of DNA/RNA nanostructures.
The work combines DNA nanostructure design and assembly, DNA–protein conjugation, cell culture, high-throughput sequencing, and bioinformatics. The doctoral student will design and run experiments, analyze and interpret data, and work closely with co-supervisors in a multidisciplinary environment.
Eligibility requires a relevant Master’s degree or equivalent, plus general doctoral eligibility and English proficiency equivalent to English B/English 6. The ad especially welcomes candidates with wet-lab molecular biology experience, computational analysis skills (e.g. Python), and an interest in interdisciplinary research spanning experimental and computational methods.
This is a full-time doctoral studentship for up to 4 years with a monthly salary. Applications must be submitted through the Varbi recruitment system and include a personal letter, CV, degree projects/publications if any, and documents proving eligibility. Deadline: 2026-08-05.
