About this position
PhD position in Natural Language Processing at Inria Saclay-Île-de-France (Centre Inria de Saclay, Palaiseau), within the CEDAR team. The project focuses on media bias, public discourse, narrative diversity, and argumentative diversity, aiming to move beyond factual accuracy and develop NLP tools that help journalists and researchers identify and mitigate bias while preserving factual integrity.

Supervision is by Dr. Oana Balalau and Dr. Thibaud Leteno. The position is supported by Hi! PARIS Center - AI for Science, Business & Society and the ANR/France 2030 program.

Funding details: 3-year PhD contract with a monthly gross salary of 2,300 euros, plus benefits such as subsidized meals, partial public transport reimbursement, leave, teleworking after 6 months, flexible working hours, professional equipment, social security coverage, and access to training and social/cultural/sports activities.
