About this position
PhD opportunity in NeuroAI: Biologically Plausible Artificial Intelligence at Technion - Israel Institute of Technology (Haifa, Israel).
The Neuro-AI Lab is seeking PhD candidates for projects spanning machine learning, artificial intelligence, computational neuroscience, neural engineering, and brain-computer interfaces (BCIs). Research directions include developing BCIs for rodents and humans, building theoretical and computational models of neural activity, and training cutting-edge ML systems including large language models.
The lab is embedded in Technion’s AI and neuroscience communities and offers a collaborative, international environment with access to state-of-the-art facilities. Students are encouraged to pursue research visits, internships, and collaborative projects with partner institutions abroad.
Applicants with computational/theoretical backgrounds are especially welcome, including Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Physics, Mathematics, and Applied Mathematics. Experimental candidates with backgrounds in Neuroscience, Biology, or Medicine are also encouraged, particularly if they have strong computational skills.
This is a funded PhD project with guaranteed funding through internal university budgets. Applications are accepted all year round, and the goal is to fill positions by October 2026.
To apply, email your CV and full academic transcript directly to Prof. Stefano Recanatesi at [email protected].
