About this position
We are looking for a motivated PhD candidate to join NEUROMECH, an interdisciplinary Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Network project focused on how neurodegenerative diseases change the mechanical properties of tissue and whether these changes can be assessed non-invasively with MRI.
The project combines multifrequency Magnetic Resonance Elastography, histology, vascular analysis, spatial transcriptomics, and molecular biology to investigate the biological meaning of biomechanical imaging biomarkers in neurodegenerative disease. The research sits at the interface of neurobiology, mechanobiology, MRI, pathology, and spatial omics, making it a strong fit for candidates interested in multiscale imaging and translational biomedical research.
The PhD will involve work across Italy, France, and Germany within a collaborative European network. The post is especially relevant for students with interests in neuroscience, biomedical engineering, imaging biomarkers, tissue mechanics, histology, and omics-based approaches to disease.
No formal deadline, funding amount, or detailed eligibility criteria are provided in the post. Interested candidates are invited to get in touch directly with the poster or share the opportunity within their network.
Funding details
Full funding including tuition fees and living expenses is available for this position. The scholarship covers all educational costs and provides a monthly stipend.
