About this position

ResearchHub Foundation is offering a $10,000 USD seed grant for proposals on non-invasive tools to control and profile gene expression in living cells and tissues.

This opportunity is especially relevant to researchers working in biology, biomedical engineering, neuroscience, medical science, and computer science. Example topics include optogenetics, chemogenetics, focused-ultrasound gene control, light/sound-inducible CRISPR systems (CRISPRa, CRISPRi, base editing), liquid biopsy approaches using cell-free DNA/RNA or exosomal transcripts, in situ/in vivo spatial transcriptomics with minimal tissue disruption, and computational methods that connect non-invasive readouts to transcriptional states.

Eligibility: PhD students, postdocs, independent researchers, and faculty may apply. There are no country restrictions, and collaborative interdisciplinary teams are strongly encouraged.

Funding: Selected projects receive $10,000 USD seed funding. Projects may also be eligible for additional community crowdfunding support through the ResearchHub platform.

Open science requirements: Selected projects must pre-register on ResearchHub, share data openly, and may be published as a ResearchHub Registered Report.

How to apply: Submit a proposal via the ResearchHub grant page using the application link provided. Review the project theme carefully and align your proposal with one or more of the listed research directions. Make sure you are prepared to meet the open-science commitments if selected.
