About this position

PhD opportunity: Development of new-to-nature enzymatic reactivity for applications in organic synthesis at the University of Cambridge, Department of Chemistry, in the Mateo Sanchez Lab.

The project sits at the interface of chemistry and biology and focuses on discovering and developing new-to-nature reactivity using engineered enzymes. Eligibility: Applicants should have an excellent academic record and a strong background in chemistry, especially organic and asymmetric chemistry. Prior research experience in organic synthesis is highly advantageous. An MPhil, MSc, or equivalent research experience in a relevant field is strongly recommended. The ideal candidate will be intellectually curious, enthusiastic about interdisciplinary research, and able to communicate clearly in group meetings and seminars.
