About this position
PhD position in Nutritional Crop Physiology within the GreenRobust Cluster of Excellence at the University of Hohenheim, in collaboration with the Julius Kühn-Institute. The project focuses on mycorrhizal symbiosis, plant transport proteins, and how these proteins shape plant robustness against water stress and nutrient stress.
The successful candidate will join the research group of Benjamin Neuhäuser and work closely with Sabine Kind. Research topics include greenhouse and field experiments, analysis of growth parameters and nutrient contents, mycorrhization efficiency, transcriptomic and phospho-proteomic analyses, molecular cloning, and CRISPR/Cas9 knockout of transport proteins in tomato, grapevine, and apple.
This is a fixed-term PhD position for three years, starting on 01.01.2027, with remuneration up to E13 TV-L at 65%. The work location is Stuttgart-Hohenheim, with flexibility to alternate between Hohenheim and the JKI.
Applicants should hold a Master's or Diploma in biology, plant sciences, agricultural sciences, or a comparable field. Desired experience includes greenhouse or field experiments, molecular methods, or analytical chemistry, along with strong English skills, independent working style, and teamwork ability.
