About this position
PhD position at the University of Hohenheim in the GreenRobust Cluster of Excellence on yield stability in nutritional crop physiology. The project investigates how weather extremes and complex abiotic stress combinations affect crop yield and yield stability in long-term field trials, and how these effects relate to fertilization.
The research combines field experiments, greenhouse experiments, computational analysis of long-term weather and crop growth data, statistics, transcriptomics (including single-cell analysis), and integration of multi-omics datasets. The work also includes analysis of growth parameters, nutrient/metabolite profiles, and gene expression at sensitive timepoints.
Applicants should hold a Master's or Diploma in biology, plant sciences, agricultural sciences, or a comparable field. The post asks for interest in agronomy, plant physiology, and statistics, plus experience with greenhouse or field experiments and laboratory experience in molecular methods or analytical chemistry. Good English and German skills are required.
This is a paid PhD position remunerated up to E13 TV-L at 65% scope, running until 31.12.2029. The position is located in Stuttgart-Hohenheim, Germany. Application deadline: 2026-11-30.
