The project uses purpose-built particle-toxicant dispersion chambers and established field collaborations to study how salinity changes and particle associations affect toxicant behaviour in estuarine and mangrove environments.

Eligibility: applicants should normally hold a first or upper second-class honours degree or equivalent in a relevant subject, and preferably a relevant Master’s degree or similar experience. Overseas candidates must meet English language requirements unless exempt under UK guidance.

Deadline: midnight BST on Tuesday 13 October 2026. Interviews are expected on 27 October 2026, with a January 2027 start.

What's required

Applicants typically should have a first or upper second-class honours degree or equivalent in an appropriate subject and preferably a relevant Masters’ qualification or similar experience. Overseas students must provide proof of English language ability, with IELTS 6.5 overall and no component below 6.0, or TOEFL 85 overall with minimum section scores of reading 20, listening 19, speaking 20 and writing 21, unless exempt under UK Government guidance for an English-taught degree obtained within the last five years. International candidates may apply but must have co-funding to cover the difference between home and international fees.
